Plyst ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Plyst mobile application and website at plyst.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
Plyst has two types of users:
- Performers — musicians who create an account to manage their catalog, events, and receive tips.
- Audience members — fans who scan a QR code to request songs or send tips. Audience members do not create accounts and are not required to provide any personal information.
2. Information We Collect
Performers
- Account information: email address and stage name provided at registration.
- Billing information: we use Stripe to process subscription payments. We do not store your payment card details — Stripe handles all payment data directly.
- Payout information: if you set up tip payouts, you will complete Stripe's identity verification process. Plyst does not store your bank or identity documents — Stripe handles this entirely.
- Song catalog and event data: songs, chord charts, and event details you add to the app.
- Usage data: basic analytics such as requests received and tips processed, used to display your own stats to you.
Audience Members
- Song requests: the song you request and an optional name and message. This is shared with the performer in real time.
- Tips: if you send a tip, Stripe processes your payment. We do not store your card details. We retain the tip amount and an optional message for the performer's records.
- No account required: audience members are anonymous. We do not track you across sessions or across events.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service
- To process subscription payments and tip transactions
- To display real-time song requests and tips to performers
- To send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) to performers
- To improve the Service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Plyst:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting. Privacy Policy
- Stripe — payment processing and performer payouts. Privacy Policy
- Anthropic Claude — AI-assisted chord chart generation. Submitted song data may be processed by Anthropic's API. Privacy Policy
- Fly.io — backend hosting. Privacy Policy
5. Data Retention
Performer account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g. transaction records).
Audience request and tip data is retained to provide performers with their event history. Anonymous audience data is not linked to any individual.
6. Your Rights
If you are a performer with an account, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data

7. Children's Privacy
Plyst is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify performers of material changes via email or an in-app notice. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
